Writer's Block: Little White Lies
I do not think it is possible to get through a day without telling a few lies. I have heard from two family members this morning. I assured both of them that I was delighted to hear from them, when in point of fact I was annoyed at being interrupted in my morning routine. But keeping good feelings within the group precludes total honesty on my part.
I make a sharp distention among lies. Social lies and lies of convenience I tend to let go. "I would love to go out with you but I am washing my hair" – I have heard that one a lot – "No your bottom does not look fat" have said that a lot myself.
However I do not tell lies for gain and have a very low tolerance for those who do.

It's a semi-true story,
believe it or not;
I made up a few things,
and there's some I forgot.
But the life and the telling
are both real to me.
and they all run together,
and turn out to be
a semi-true story
